Absent father wants "retribution" for not raising his daughters and insists on walking engaged daughter down the aisle, she refuses to let him, and chooses her mom to walk her instead: 'You're punishing me forever'

Weddings can really turn what should be a convivial, celebratory day into a day of drama and disaster overnight. It only takes one grudge, one memory, and one family member to make the day about an old strife that was left unfinished. 

A 27-year-old woman is getting married to the love of her life. Everything seems perfect, except her negligent father is causing waves to crash around her. Her parents divorced when she was 10, and after the divorce, she had a distant relationship with her father. She saw him for events, or birthdays, but he wasn't really around, and she feels as though she was raised solely by her mother. Now that she's older and getting married, her absent dad has expressed interest in being around for her wedding, and walking her down the aisle. It's as if the last 17 years didn't happen at all, and he's trying to brush it under the rug. She refuses to let him walk her down the aisle, and she chooses her mom to do it instead. 

I couldn't imagine refusing to let my dad walk me down the aisle, but he wasn't an absent father at all, so I would never have to come to that decision. Enjoy the full story below.
